My instant reaction was to blurt out, Of course, you are still first. It's just that you're in a different category now.

I couldn't make myself say it out loud. Somehow, that declaration has some shallow ring to it.

So I said another truth, the one that I've been repeating countless of times. I'm sorry i gave up on us. I shouldn't have let my insecurities get the better of me.
